About Us
Our Maine Ocean Cottage Rentals is a 3rd generation family owned cottage rentals business that began in the 1950's when our grandparents purchased the cottage and out buildings, next door to the cute craftsman cottage they had built on the amazing ocean setting of Sandy River Beach. My 3 brothers and I spent our childhood and adolescent summers, visiting our grandparents, and building very special memories on Sandy River Beach, as they were building a successful summer rentals business. As adults, my brothers moved back to Jonesport, and I began bringing my California husband and children to Sandy River Beach on vacation. In 1990 we purchased the Sandpiper cottage to add to the family rentals business, and have carried on the special tradition of hosting our children and now grandchildren for their summer vacations, as well as providing delightful and amazing vacations to hundreds of wonderful families. Many families have also returned to our cottage rentals year after year, and some even for multiple generations.
Our Maine Ocean Cottage Rentals are unique for vacationers who want to spend their vacation in Maine on the ocean, because of our one of a kind setting, offering the fresh water Sandy River inlet, and our private estuary, in addition to our white sand beach and granite rock ledges, the gentle surf and amazing tidal play area, our private boat ramp, and 2 side-by-side cottages offering a multi-family or friends vacation.
My brothers are local businessmen, and they and their wives, and Bob and I live on the adjacent property, and so are around for any of your questions or needs. Our nephew is a lobster fisherman and will deliver your lobsters to your door if you prefer rather than picking them out yourselves at the local wharf. We all love carrying on our grandparent's and father's tradition of sharing our little piece of paradise with our summer families, and try to ensure that your Maine Ocean Cottage Rentals vacation is a very special and memorable vacation.
